Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Several weeks ago my face became really really dry and the skin around my cheeks was especially dry and became really scaly and itchy (apologies if that grosses you out slightly). I had been on the beach and under the sun over the weekend and didn't moisturize enough afterwards...which is terrible of me! I tried everything to re-hydrate my skin which included using the Laneige Sleeping mask, Origins Drink Up Intensive mask, hyaluronic sheet masks, Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre every night...anything and everything I thought was intensely hydrating! Sadly, nothing was really working, at least not at the pace I wanted it to work. During the day, I would wear a hydrating BB cream for work but my skin got so bad that people at work started asking me what was up with my skin because the scaly dry skin was quite noticeable underneath the BB cream. So I started looking through my stash of samples and came across a tiny vial of Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil and I thought why the hell not and used up the whole vial to drench my skin...and BOOM. My skin was saved overnight! The extremely dry and scaly parts of my skin felt smoother, plumper and re-hydrated after using the oil. I was so impressed, I bought a full-size bottle the very next day since my skin was definitely still in need of this miracle worker.

Based on the sales assistant's recommendation, I picked up the Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil which is for normal skin with anti-aging care for dehydrated skin instead of the Lotus one. This has now become a staple in my night time routine. After cleansing and toning, I use about 3-4 drops of the oil and rub it quickly in the palm of my hands to heat it up a bit and then gently pat on to my face and neck. I then slab on a moisturizer to help seal all the moisture in. It doesn't leave the skin too oily since it's easily absorbed and it smells divine as well.

The Face Treatment Oils comes in three different types and are all made from 100% pure plant extracts of different essential oils:
  • Blue Orchid for normal skin contains essential oils of Rosewood and Patchouli, Blue Orchid extract which help to revitalize and tone the epidermis
  • Santal for dry skin contains essential oils of Sandalwood, Cardamon and Lavender to help decongest the skin, reduce redness and stimulate the epidermis
  • Lotus for oily/combination skin contains essential oils of Rosewood, Geranium and Lotus extract which help to purify and normalize the skin
  • All three oils contain Hazelnut oil to prevent further loss of moisture, formation of fine lines, and signs of aging.

Including this in my night time routine has really helped to re-hydrate my skin and get it back its normal non-scaly, non-itchy self, and I must say it has definitely made my skin look way better than before as it has helped to plump and brighten up my complexion. I highly recommend this if you're looking for that extra something something to give your skin that (extra) moisturization goodness.
