HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I haven't dressed up for Halloween for quite a few years now but I thought I'd share this photo of me, back in 2008, dressed as one of those Japanese ghost girls! I took a plain white long t-shirt, torn it up in a few areas and threw some fake blood on it. Then for my body (whatever was going to be on show), I used a sponge to apply a greyish blue face and body paint that you can easily find in fancy dress shops...for best results dab the sponge onto the body for a more dead rotting feel. I covered my face with the same greyish blue paint and used a mixture of black, blue, purple and green eyeliner and just drew all over my eye area - adding and blending colours here and there till I was satisfied that the eyes looked deathlike. To complete the look, I had my hair cover half of my face and since it was black already it really completed the look. This was such an easy Halloween look to do and I did actually manage to scare quite a few people!! It was loads of fun!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

Real Techniques Brushes - Core Collection

Real Techniques Core Collection

Ever since I purchased my first Real Techniques brush, the Blush brush, I was completely hooked...as do all those who have tried these wonderful brushes out! I now own quite a few of the brushes in the Real Techniques range, but today's post is on their Core Collection set.

Nuxe Lip Moisturising Stick

Nuxe Lip Moisturising Stick

If you've seen my post on Nuxe's Ultra-nourishing Lip Balm, you'll know that I love using it when I have extremely dry lips but I don't normally carry it out with me because the packaging is bulky and I don't really like sticking my fingers in it when I'm out...hygiene and what not! So I picked up their Lip Moisturising Stick and this is what I usually carry around with me in my bag. Now I don't find this as moisturising and rich as the Ultra-nourishing Lip Balm but it does a good-ish job and I usually reapply every 2 - 3 hours. It is a clear balm with a mild scent to it, similar to that of the ULB. I probably won't repurchase this again when it runs out... only because at £6 it is a bit cheaper than ULB (£9.50) but it comes with less product (4g) than ULB (15g). I still stay if you've got extremely dry chapped lips, especially now that it's almost winter, then do check out the Nuxe Ultra-nourishing Lip Balm :)

LUSH Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

I'm usually a big fan of Lush products, however today's post is not really much of a rave review. I recently bought the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter as it has been a product that I've been wanting to try out for a while. Now I'm not really one to fuss about my cuticles because I personally don't find that they are that bad, slap on a bit of hand cream and they're good as new. But recently I've noticed that the skin surrounding my fingernail has been a bit dryer than usual so I thought I would give Lemony Flutter a go!

Soap and Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Powdercoat Matte in Pom Pom

Soap and Glory brought out these new Super-Colour Fabulipstick Powdercoat Matte lipsticks that are velvety smooth and creamy but with a moisturising matte finish. I picked up the colour Pom Pom, a raspberry reddish pink. They also come in two other colours, a nude called Supernude and a mauve pink called Blush Pink.

MAC Eye Shadow in Ricepaper and Satin Taupe

MAC Eye Shadow in (L-R): Ricepaper and Satin Taupe

Uh-oh...my MAC obsession is slowly but surely growing! I've been into makeup for many years, and one of my first ever lipglosses was from MAC but I found it so sticky and since then I haven't really explored MAC makeup...funny how one sticky lipgloss steered me away from MAC for so many years! However, in the last 2 or 3 years, I've been getting into MAC products more and more... I love their Liquidlast Liner in Point Black, extremely black and long-lasting on my oily lids even though the liner does get gloopy after a while. And of course, I've also been getting into their lipsticks as well, you can see my latest posts on two of the lipsticks in their latest Marilyn Monroe collection and my post on my favourite completely matte lipstick, Ruby Woo.

A few weeks ago, I was in Heathrow's T3 Duty Free and I could not resist heading straight to the MAC counter. I had to wait quite a while to be served because for some reason there was only one girl working in the store and she was actually doing makeup on another customer...Poor thing, felt bad for her because she had to keep apologising to the growing number of waiting customers. Anyway, I have been eyeing these Ricepaper and Satin Taupe for a while now so I had to get them, especially at the £10 duty free price!

New shoes: Black studded flats!

I recently bought these shoes on sale from The Walker Shop, which is a shoe store in Hong Kong. I spotted them immediately because they look very similar to the Zara Studded Pony Skin Slippers, only that the studs aren't pointy like the Zara ones. I've been wanting flats like these for ages but can never find any that looked right on my feet...what with my flat-footedness and all! But these ones don't look too bad and hopefully once I break them in, they should be more comfortable...as of yet, they've given me blisters at the backs of my ankles! When I first tried these on, I did feel that the hairiness of the shoes took some getting used to and I still kinda feel that way but all in all I'm really liking these shoes!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Ebony (and a little update!)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Ebony
Helloooooo everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates! Last few weeks have been quite hectic for me... I've left London and moved back to Hong Kong, hopefully not for good but for now a good long while!! I had been living in the UK for 7 years so you can imagine how much stuff I had to pack and organise before leaving. Now I'm back in Hong Kong and slowly getting a routine together. It was very hard to leave the UK... leaving some of my best friends behind and leaving somewhere I've called home for 7 years and going back to Hong Kong where I've never actually lived in before (as I grew up in Nigeria before going to the UK) and starting all over again! I already miss London so much! But anyway!! I've got a little post for you!

I recently watched one of Holly Ann-Aeree's videos, I think it was one of her amazingly long Hits and Misses videos which are always a joy to watch... should be the latest one, here's the link. She mentioned she was using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo for her brows and I was sold.... girl always has great brows! So I went on Cult Beauty and bought it in Ebony (for black hair tones). I gotta say I'm loving it! In Holly's words "It's so life changing for the brows!"
