Topshop Nails - Delusion

Topshop Nails in Delusion

I had been looking for a greyish purple colour for ages and then I came across Topshop's Delusion a couple of months ago on their website during their sale. I fell in love! It's THE colour I've been looking for. It's also my first Topshop nail polish - I always check out the nail polishes at Topshop because they do have some lovely colours and the packaging is very cute (I love the polka dots!) but I was never tempted to buy them. Unfortunately, I believe this colour is discontinued because I don't see it online or in the store at all but they do have similar one called Rainy Day which has more grey in it.

The polish is a glossy cream finish and fast-drying. I had on 2 coats plus a top coat and the polish lasted at least 4 days without chipping, albeit there was some tip-wear.

I'm definitely a fan of Topshop nail polish...Good coverage, affordable and nice range of colours. I will most definitely be buying more in the near future.

Have you tried Topshop nail polish? What's your favourite?

February JolieBox

With so many beauty boxes out right now, I was keen on signing up for JolieBox (UK), which used to be Boudoir Privé, as I've seen some good reviews on their boxes. Since December 2011, Boudoir Privé  joined forces with JolieBox (a leading beauty box subscription service in France) and created UK's own JolieBox! You still get 5 - 6 luxury-sized samples of beauty products for £10 (+ P&P), that hasn't changed! This is my first JolieBox, continue reading to find out what I got and my thoughts:

Sleek Makeup: Blush by 3 - Sugar and Pink Sprint

Sleek Makeup just released these blush palettes called blush BY 3 that's available at Superdrug for a limited time only. Each palette comes with three different colours that are very pigmented. The packaging is great, as with all Sleek packaging: small, thin and travel-friendly. There are five different palettes in total called Sugar, Lace, Pumpkin, Flame and Pink Sprint. I only bought Sugar and Pink Sprint but I really want Lace (but it was cleaned out at the Superdrug that I went to, so I'm on the hunt!).

Gold Armour

Bought these rings last month and I've been obsessed with them! I'm now on the hunt for similar ones but in distressed silver. I've just been wearing one on each middle finger since I find that wearing too much gold jewellery in one go can be a bit too over the top. They really stand out, especially the cage ring. I also find that the cage ring is really well-made. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Left ring is from H&M and right ring is from Topshop.

IMATS LONDON

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

I attended IMATS LONDON last Saturday and I just wanted to share my thoughts, experience and a few pictures from the day. For those who don't know, IMATS is an annual International Make-up Artist Trade Show that is held in various cities and countries such as London, Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, Toronto and Sydney. I first heard about IMATS from many of the of Youtube gurus that I watch, and I really wanted to go to the London one last year but unfortunately missed out on it. So I knew I wanted to go to this year's one just to experience the whole show. Here's some photos from the show.

The Illamasqua stand was crazy! 75% off on a selected range of their products.
The live make-up showcase was pretty awesome too.

This is my favourite photo, I love the make-up and prosthetics - really fascinating!

The amazing EnKore from EnKoreMakeup

This year's IMATS was held in the Great Hall at Alexandra Palace which meant that the venue space was much bigger - more space to roam and I didn't feel claustrophobic at all.

However, this brings me to my first negative about IMATS London - there wasn't as many brands exhibiting at the show as compared to LA and NY and for that reason it felt like there was a lot of free space that could have been filled by more exhibitors. I guess the LA and NY ones are probably on a much bigger scale but I expected London to be the same. Most notably missing was Sigma brushes, I reckon they would have done extremely well at the show. My second negative is that the ticket price ( I paid £45 for one day) was way too extortionate! There wasn't a goodie bag at the end of the day or anything. I personally think that instead of the big massive IMATS cardboard bag they should change those to canvas tote bags so then at least it's something that you could keep and re-use.

Now for some positives.... loads of brands had crazy discounts! They were very hard to resist and I'll be doing a little mini IMATS haul and review in my next post. I also really loved watching all the live make-up showcases and seeing them come to life right in front of you.

Overall, I enjoyed it but I just wish I didn't have to pay such a hefty ticket price. I would love to go to IMATS LA and NY some day too!

Did you go to IMATS London? What was your thoughts and experience on it?

NOTD - GOSH Purple Heart

Saw this in Superdrug today and was immediately drawn to the colours.
It was also the last one on the stand so I thought might as well try it.
This is my first GOSH nail polish.
I loved the consistency of the polish, one thick coat was enough but I usually put two coats anyway, just in case.
The polish also dried pretty fast too.
I do like the colour once painted on the nails. In certain lighting it's sort of a glossy black but for the most part it's mostly of a dark purple colour with the occasional murky green colour (which might not sound appealing to some but doesn't bother me).
Unfortunately, in my experience, the full duo-chrome effect that you see in the bottle doesn't transfer onto the nails so that was a bit disappointing.
All in all, I do like this polish and I think it's quite a good dark polish for the winter.
It's also very affordable at £5.00.

Benefit Cosmetics Hervana .... Get swirling!

I recently bought Benefit's newest box o' powder Hervana and I gotta say ...
it was love at first sight!

I'm a huge Beneholic, and I LOVE their box o' powders (my collection is almost complete except for Bella Bamba and Thrrrob)  ... I personally think they have one of the prettiest packaging and colour pay-off out there and their latest one is no exception!

First of all, can we just admire the gorgeous colours of the packaging??
I also love that the new boxes all have magnetic flip tops with a very handy little mirror.

Hervana comes with four different shades (from lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight) and when swirled together gives your cheeks a lovely flush of pink. It actually reminds me of the colour of pink cherry blossoms and it's a very good everyday colour.

If you're looking for a new pink blusher, definitely go check this one out ...and get swirling!
